 About Tellington TTouch

Tellington TTouch was first developed by Linda Tellington-Jones in the 1970s. Now it is used all over the world

TTouch is a gentle, effective, cooperative technique to help animals find  physical, emotional and psychological balance to help them cope with  the stresses of modern life.

The TTouch method comprises bodywork, leadwork, groundwork and various tools

Techniques and Tools used in Tellington TTouch

Tellington TTouch can help you improve your relationship with your pet by reducing anxiety and increasing self confidence. The method uses observation, simple, effective body touches, and various tools and movement through different elements made from everyday articles.

TTouch bodywork

The bodywoek component consists of a gentle series of touches with the hands and fingers held in different positions.

The touches are not petting or massage but work with the nervous system to give the animal new information to deal with a situation.

TTouch Body Wraps

Body Wraps are soft stetchy lengths of material (often ace bandages).

Using wraps in variois configurations gives the animal feedback about tension and where they are in space.

Wraps can help reduce fear of loud noises, help with car travel, reduce stress and improve movement.

Leading tools and techniques

Walking a dog in a harness with two points of contact (the front and one the back) takes pressure off the neck and allows the dog to come into balance.

There are various tools such as the Harmony leash and handle and the connector to enhance the communication between the dog and handler. These will help stop the dog pulling on the lead.
